Quick trip up to check it out. Bald Eagle Aviation was awesome!
6/18/2026Food with a View
Flew up to Auburn with the family for breakfast at Wings Grill and had a great experience. It was very busy when we got in, but the service was excellent and the food came out fast. The food was fantastic, and the view from our table overlooking the ramp made it even better. Great fly-in breakfast spot.

6/17/2026Perfect day at Shelter Cove
Shelter Cove was an amazing fly-in. The weather was perfect, the views were incredible, and the winds were calm—just a great day to fly in. Everything is super close to the runway, which makes it feel like the whole place is built around the airport. The ocean, food, camping, and everything else are right there. Parking is a little tight, and you definitely want to watch for golf carts crossing around midfield. We also kept an eye on the hills to the east and out over the ocean the entire time for any sign of fog, because fog can come in quick here. Overall, Shelter Cove is a special spot and a great airport destination.
6/17/2026Great time at SLO
Had a great overnight trip into San Luis Obispo. ACI was amazing—they taxied me in like a regional jet, helped with my bags, and had my Enterprise rental car waiting when I arrived. They also had the plane fueled and ready by my departure time. Everyone was super friendly from the moment I contacted tower all the way to parking. On departure, tower offered flight following back home and even recommended heading straight out for a great view of the coast. Great experience at KSBP.
6/17/2026Complex but Friendly
KCCR is a busy but well-run airport. PSA was quick with fuel service, although the fuel was on the expensive side. The tower was friendly and professional, but taxi instructions can be a bit complex, especially when the airport is busy with student pilots. Overall, a good airport—just be ready to pay attention on the ground.
